ASSIGNMENT FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 23rd

            The summer program has one goal; to raise your skill level in Math and Verbal so you can get the highest possible score in October/November when you retake the SAT Test. Each week you will receive an email from me with a choice of three assignments. The gold level of assignment is the most time consuming and challenging. Do not choose this level unless you are prepared to spend a few hours each week. The Blue level is the next level of involvement. It will contain a few hours of work each week in addition to the reading assignment. The third level of involvement is the Red level. This is about an hour each week in addition to the reading assignment. I ask that you choose one level and stay there for the entire summer. Don’t move from level to level depending on how much free time you have that week. If you choose the gold level, stay with the gold level for the entire summer.

            The first week is probably the hardest as far as time is concerned. You will all be asked to take the diagnostic test in one sitting (3 hours) and then email your results so I can develop a program just for you to attack your weakest skills. The most difficult part of this assignment is that you must do it in one sitting. Once you begin the diagnostic test you must finish it before you stop in order to see your score. Don't bother with the essay, we will deal with that later. To take the diagnostic test, open your flash drive, open "Start here". Control click on Practice tests.Click on PART TWO, PINPOINT YOUR TROUBLE SPOTS. You will be taken to a diagnostic test. Take the entire test paying attention to time requirements. When you finish, copy the results and send them to me.

            If you decide to drop out of the program, please let me know so I can remove you from the mailing list. I will be spending a fair amount of time this summer on this program and you can really help me to minimize my work by letting mew know if you have decided to stop working on the course.

            The official SAT Prep web site is now up and running. Go to www.oenglish.com and click on SAT. You may want to take a look at this before we begin so you will know how to find what you need. Most of the work found on the flash drive you received is also found at the site.
